Hey this is an awesome movie. It was a blockbuster hit and I am sure that it is going to be a best seller when it is released. It is a must have for everyone and I mean everyone from the non-believers to the believers. If you are a non-believer then you will want to explore Christianity when you are done with this movie. For the believer you will deepen your beliefs and want to become closer to the Lord when you are finished watching this movie..

A Messianic Jewish view August 2nd, 2004

As a Messianic Jew, I saw both positive and negative aspects to "The Passion of the Christ." Jesus' decision to lay down the sword, and to endure whatever suffering He must in order to get to the cross and fulfill His Messianic mission is deeply moving and powerful. On the other hand, there has been a long-lasting myth that most Jews hated Jesus and wanted him dead. This movie reinforces that myth. In reality, Jesus was very popular with most Jews of his day, and likewise, most Jews of today have a positve view of Him, seeing Him as a wise and good man, perhaps even a prophet. And a few of us even see Him as the Messiah.

I COULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT I SAW. IT WAS LIKE NO OTHER MOVIE. I USE THIS MOVIE MANY TIMES AS I PREACH AND PEOPLE WHO HAVE SEEN TRULY UNDERSTAND THE EFFECT OF CHRIST SACRIFICE. THEY CAN ALMOST FEEL EVERYTHING AND WE ARE TO FEEL EVERYTHING AS BEING THE BODY OF CHRIST. THIS MOVIE GIVES A NEW FEEL TO BEING A PART OF THE BODY OF CHRIST. AND I GIVE IT TWO THUMBS UP!!!

Very Moving August 5th, 2004

I thought the Passion was inspiring and moving. Sad that its an R rated film, a bit to intense for children who are squimish, and/or young. It has moved non-Christians, there was one guy who has even said "That was a good movie, I'm surpised there wasn't a book first."

Being a Christian, I thought I knew how to prepare myself for what I would see. I was wrong. It was very moving and inspiring, but it still shook me up. I went with my church and we also brought friends from outside the church with us (non-Christians). As someone said in another review, it moved non-believers as well as believers. I would definitely recommend it as a tool for teaching or just leading a Bible study.

The Most Important Film Ever Made August 18th, 2004

I've seen "The Passion" 2 times and must conclude that it is the most important film ever made. Yes, that is a bold statement but this is why...
1. It is the most accurate portrayal of the single most important event in human history
2. The viewer watches Jesus purchase them w/ His own blood.
3. It's unrelenting. It has to be. Most people just don't understand what Jesus went throug to redeem us.
After those who don't know the Lord see the film it's up to us as Christians to take it from there. They have seen what He has done (as much as film can do anyway) now they have to respond.
This is a love story, it's real, and should be seen by everybody. There is no other piece of cinema like it.

Old complaints founded on nothing... September 7th, 2004

I've heard many comments from Jewish people I know saying that the movie portrayed the Jews as people who hated Jesus. I must admit that is a complaint based on nothing. During the movie, I found no part of the movie where it showed the Jews as the hateful people. Look at Peter and the disciples, and then compare them to the Romans. I see nothing that shows discrimination against the Jews and singles them out as objects of persecution. The movie showed that we are all accountable to bringing Jesus to His death unless we accept Him as our Christ and Savior. I don't understand why the Jews complained.

Powerful! September 13th, 2004

This movie cuts deep into emotion and makes the viewer see themselves through it. I hear people who say that it was bloody and gory and totally miss the message. Most of these people are not believers! They don't see the Christ for who He truly is. Believers will see the Christ tortured on the screen and want to jump up and help him, but filled with sadness cannot. The true joy comes when he defeats death and asks us to join him!
