I have heard the song "Gravity" many times and it never ceases to hit me.
Shawn McDonald's music is inspiring and should be picked up by all Christians with the thirst for something new.

Wow.. I'm literally speechless after hearing the first three singles off Shawn's debut cd ... this is definitely a 5 out of 5 album. This CD has a new and fresh style that blends many styles .. almost a mix of Paul Wright, Gavin Degraw, and someone else... This CD is really uncomparable to anything else... its AMAZING.

I first heard Shawn on a self-released CD and was struck by his simple but deep songs, heartfelt lyrics and his amazing voice. I also have heard him sing live, just him and his guitar. This, as a label recording, isn't quite like that, but you still can sense his eager spirit and enjoy the lyrics and vocals.

There is not a "wasted" track on this cd.....song after song he pours his heart out for everyone to see. My favs are "Take My Hand", "Have You Ever" and "Open Me". This is a must have for any music fan.

Shawn McDonald's new CD, "Simply Nothing" is stunning. He perfectly finds a blend of acoustic rock and soul. Though the album is a bit ballad-heavy, those moments are when he shines. The highlight and fist single off of the album is the passionate, stirring "Gravity". Look for more from him in the future, as the sky is the limit for this talented artist.

I am nothing but impressed with the fresh sound found on Shawn McDonald's debut, Simply Nothing. "Gravity," the album's first single, grabs your attention right away and makes you want to hear more. It's really hard to compare him to anyone because he pretty much has a sound all his own. His lyrics convey a certain honesty that attracts the ear to really listen to what he is saying. The cd opens with two melodic, fast-tempo songs that make you excited to hear the rest of the album. Throughout the cd, I have to say the stand-out tracks are slower. Overall, it is very uplifting. I can't wait for his next one.

Shawn McDonald is an incredibly talented artist! His first single, "Gravity," got me hooked on his music, and now "Take my hand" and "All I need" are my favorites. I love the acoustic sound, especially on "Here I am," which has to be the most inspirational song on the CD. If you are considering buying it, don't wait any longer - buy it today! It is fantastic - you won't be disappointed!
