Trent Monk and Michael Neagle have teamed up and have some high expectations being put on them in the adult CCM world. Already touring with greats like Mercy Me, Jeremy Camp and Shane and Shane, these guys have teamed up with Flicker records and laid out their fist cd with dedications to Jesus and their wives of more than 5 years.

Musically, I was expecting a little bit more up tempo but what I found was very good melodic acoustic music that mixed a few jazzy tracks with even a couple modern day country sounding tracks and only about 2 foot tapping tracks. Musically a good cd but more of a target to 25 and older than 25 and under. In fact I gave this cd to my wife after just one listen and she smiled after just the first track. So does that mean it is a bad cd musically? Not at all but, dont be looking for upbeat pop rock...this is 100% adult contemporary. One of my favorite tracks was actually the last one on the cd which infused a lot of jazz hooks and rhythm. Other unique tracks like "Lovely Woman" are entertaining while mixing in a mandolin, banjo and accordion.

Vocally, both these guys have a great harmony together and gel to perfection. There was no rocket science involved when merging these two artists. And lyrically is where the perfection gets even better. The songs mix incredible love songs to their wives like on tracks "Stars Would Fall," "lovely Woman" and "Harmony" along with songs of love to Jesus. This is also a given plug into the adult contemporary market and currently are rising on the charts with their first hit, "All I Need." Romantic music with loving lyrics will put your mind at ease with this cd. Monk adds a track dealing with the death of his great grandmother, "Dancing With the Angels," which will compete with "I Can Only Imagine" as a song that gets you in touch with Heaven! Incredible straight forward messages that have a complex simplicity that you will understand after just one listen.

If you are a fan of artists like John Mayer and don't like some of the sexual overtones on some of his songs then this cd is one you will love.

"Dancin with the angels" has been such a blessing in my life. It reminds me that even when loved ones leave this earth, they are in a far better place. Glory to God.

These are two talented guys that are so in love with their wives and their God and express it through their music. I hope we hear more from Monk & Neagle as I really love this cd. This is one of those rare cds that I love to listen to all the way through without skipping any songs.
