Product Description

He's Not Your Typical Christian Artist - He travels from city to city in a van, teaching ure, playing in living rooms and normally wears nothing but a white t-shirt and jeans. In the past, he's talked about how 'crooked? he is and even wrote songs about repentance. His songwriting has brought moments of self examination, spiritual growth and at times controversy. He's been rejected for nothing more than speaking Biblical truth. He doesn?t hesitate to call the body to righteousness, no matter how unpopular it makes him appear. His songs speak volumes and he's not afraid to say what needs to be said.

I See Things Upside Down is a record that's true to its name from start to finish. Exploring the topic of value and what things look like, but not from the most obvious angle, this record tells the story of how we as Christian often value things 'upside down? from true Kingdom values.

A modern day Bob Dylan (with a Christian message) February 25, 2005
Reviewer: Matt from Salina, KS

The lyrics on this CD are some of the best Christian lyrics I've heard in years. Derek Webb is a poet and I feel like his message is truly God inspired. I especially like the song T-shirts. It's so true! It talks about how non-believes will know us by the T-shirts we wear and not what we should be known for....love!

Great Lyrics. Great Music. Great Art. May 4, 2005
Reviewer: James from Huntington, WV

This album is simply wonderful! Derek Webb is not just a fantastic song writer, but a great musician. In I See Things Upside Down, I got an album that is bold, convicting, and encouraging at the same time, and one that sounds great as well. It has been a blessing to me (and to all of my friends that I've made listen to it). If you love great music that will also challenge and encourage you, you should definitely buy this cd!

This hasn't even been released yet, but I'm confident that it will be amazing. Derek is an incredible artist and man. I can't wait!

An Outstanding Album February 19, 2005
Reviewer: Richard Miller from Gahhana, OH

This is a supremely honest and straight forward album. The songs "T-Shirts" and "What is not Love" will offend the ones who put more value on what's on the outside than what's on the inside. But if you seek a close relationship with Christ - these songs could be just the ones that support your inner feelings and give you hope. If you like honest, truthful music that has a deeper message than what you've heard lately, this is a "must have".

Amazing January 20, 2007
Reviewer: from FW, WA

"I Want a Broken Heart" is one of the best songs Derek has ever written. The rest of the record is unique and thoughtful. Highly recommended.
