Kutless combines sincere and plaintive vocals with absorbing, dynamically
intense new hard rock. Produced and engineered by Aaron Sprinkle (Poor Old Lu, Stavesacre, Squad 5-0), this young Portland, Oregon band has delivered an inspired and inspirational self-titled debut album in which Kutless has recorded twelve compelling songs. These tracks feature strong vocals from compelling frontman Jon-Micah Sumrall who, at the tender age of 20, has a
voice as resonant as those for Creed or Third Day, firing music as sharp and aggressive as Incubus or Puddle of Mudd.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! MORE THAN 5 STARS!

Kutless bursts onto the scene with this self-titled effort..... and man do they ever burst onto the scene!
If you're even remotely a fan of Christian rock, you will absolutely adore this CD! This is one of those special CD's that you can just put in the player and sit back and enjoy every one of the 12 songs. You can tell a lot of work was put into this album, and it really shines.
With the chart-topping hits: Run, Your Touch and Tonight, they bring songs that have been loved by many. But besides these wonderful songs, every one of the others is wonderful hard rock music with an exceptional message. They talk about subjects such as dealing with ridicule in following Christ, fighting to quit sinning, the needlessness of pride, the awesome love of Jesus Christ and our need for Him, and so so so much more.
There is also several songs of praise and worship on the album, and the heavy song "Tonight" is exciting praise and worship at it's best.
Musically, the guitars, drums and awesome voice of Jon Micah Sumrall makes this stand alone in rock music. But the message they spread with it makes them an EXCEPTIONAL band at the top of Christian rock today!
Check this CD out!

I went to great length to get Kutless CDs as I live abroad in the UK and I'm so glad I did because I've heard nothing like them before. Their songs are so great and the lyrics also reflect passion and love for Christ Jesus which is very important to me.

Hard grounded rock

These guys are a down to earth type of band. I enjoy listening to this CD becuase of the way that the words are so humble in how they relate to God. Esp. the last track which is actually a slower praise song. This CD is good at giving God glory in a hard rock sorta way.

Easy To Jam To
August 6, 2004
Reviewer:

The best thing about this album is not only that pretty much the whole album rocks, but it is an easy album to jam out to if you know how to play the guitar. 85% in drop D power chords and the rest is standard tuning and standard chords. It's a Christian rock guitarists must have!

Kut-Less is More???

I've got to be honest – this CD isn't nearly as original or groundbreaking as I first thought when buying it. The sound is very post-grunge. The lyrics, while honest, are very straightforward. But with songs like the absolutely inspiring "Run," the rap-core "Pride Away," and the rocking "Your Touch," this is a great CD for any fan of solid Christian rock. Be sure, though, to check out Kutless's sophomore release: "Sea of Faces."

Amazing

There is not a single song on this C.D. that I don't like. Unlike some Christian rockers, their message is present in every song, and they unashamedly give praise to God. This album deserves all 5 stars.

Listen, and You'll Understand

If you listen to Kutless' self-entitled album, you will understand why it is rated so highly. Jon's voice is amazing (and he sings just as powerfully live!!). The music rocks. The lyrics are meaty. It's all around awesome. Check it out yourself!
