Product Description

ZOEgirl adamantly believe that Different Kind Of FREE, the group's third studio release, is the project most true to who they are artistically, as individuals and as a group. The lyrics found on this album are as personal and accessible as ever. Stylistically, the group has found a rare balance between guitar-driven pop and groove-laden R&B, while maintaining their signature sound of catchy hooks and powerful choruses. Empowerment. Freedom. These are the pervasive themes on Different Kind Of FREE.

Tackling Today July 16, 2004
Reviewer: Jennifer from Michigan, USA

On "Different Kind of FREE", ZOEgirl tackles today's temptations with personal, to-the-point lyrics and well mixed melodies. "You Get Me" talks about how God knows more about you than you know about yourself, "Love Me For Me" shows how much pressure we have to put up with to be different from what we really are, "Wait" talks about not getting revenge on those who hurt you, and "She" tackles a story about a girl who had sex before marriage and now puts up with people putting her down because of her mistakes. "Life to Me" finishes the album with powerful lyrics and honest prayer to become more like Christ. Many of the other songs provide great lessons on life - something you wouldn't really hear in today's entertainment.

Different Kind of Free- Zoegirl July 28, 2004
Reviewer: Anonymous from Buffalo

This CD was definitely different from the other two CDs. It is sort of rock this time. This CD gives great messages and is based on a verse in the bible. I would have to say this is my favorite CD out of all the CDs Zoegirl has come out with.

Their Best Release Yet September 1, 2004
Reviewer: Courtney from East Coast, USA

This is indeed ZOEgirl's best release yet. Although their past releases have been great, the lyrics, the vocals, the music, all combine and paint a truer and more real picture than ever before. The emotion and effort put into this project is tangible and vibrant. A friend of mine who has never liked the band, heard "Beautiful Name" (not knowing it was ZOEgirl) and proclaimed it to be wonderful. She now loves the entire CD. I myself have always like ZOEgirl, and although their old tunes still ring true...this has to be the best we've ever seen...heard...out of them. Whether you liked them before or not, this is one CD to get your hands on.

She September 2, 2004
Reviewer: Anonymous from KY

"SHE" is such a personal song.. As a youth leader at my church we (all the youth leaders at my church) have seen this first hand. This song really made me think about how we treated our youth, especially the young ladies. The other songs are awesome too, but She puts it into a greater area for me.

Different ZOEgirl Sound September 5, 2004
Reviewer: Anonymous from America

This is a great album. Whether you liked their first two albums or not, there's something here for everyone. Long time ZOE fans won't be disappointed with Different Kind Of Free, and those who didn't care for their sound before will be pleasantly surprised. ZOEgirl comes through with a new more mature sound as well as some great songs.

Can September 6, 2004
Reviewer: Anonymous from California

The song, Love me for me, I love because its totally what America needs to hear. It doesn't matter what we look like, but it's what we are inside that counts. And inside out is really really good, because it tells girls that they need to show people what they live for.

ZOEgirl Returns October 2, 2004
Reviewer: Anonymous from U.S.

This CD is amazing: ZOEgirl improves with each CD. I love the sound of every song.
"Beautiful Name" is a really cool rock song that I like because of the message, the sound, and the really, really good production. (This continues through the whole CD.) "Wait" talks about the importance of NOT committing suicide. Which, of course, is like, the most important thing ever. There is really cool piano part that sounds really neat.
"Feel Alright" is a happy song (It was added to Radio Disney in October 2003) that I love. They (ZOEgirl and the producers-the authors of the song) are really creative not just in this song, but on the whole CD. The rest... you'll have to find out for yourself!
