DOESN

Reviewer:

You start off with Fireproof, questionably the best Christian Rock song of the decade and go through 11 AMAZING tracks until you end up with a remixed version of Fireproof. It's a musical and lyrical rollercoaster that you will listen to OVER AND OVER again until you think you will wear it out.... but you won't!
Pillar combines awesome heavy guitar riffs, cool beats, and wonderful lyrics all surrounding faith in Jesus Christ. They do an awesome job of contronting the listener on things such as integrity in Christ (Behind Closed Doors, Just To Get By), fighting a battle for souls (Echelon), Pride in Christ (A Shame), Unity of the USA under God (Indivisible), and much, much more.
Then you have Fireproof. This is a masterpiece that will stand the test of time! One can tell it talks about the story of Shadrach, Meshack, and Abednigo (sp?) where God saved them from Nebuchadnezzar's blazing furnace.... paralleling with our salvation in Christ from anything this life (or our afterlife without Christ) could throw at us.....
If you like rock music, please check out this record! You'll be so glad you did!

While I don't usually go looking for hard rock cds I had heard that this was a great disk. To my delight, it was better than great, it was AWSOME!!! Pillar has come on the scene and brought a great hard rock sound with great guitar, and added lyrics that you can not only understand, but you can also track them back to the Bible and the message that they are trying to get across. This is definatly one of, if not the best hard rock album that has come out in a very long time.

SPECTACULAR

I was amazed at this CD from the moment I got the original CD (which came out in 2002 on Flicker Records) before these guys signed a big record deal. When MCA Records (now Geffen) signed these guys in early 2003, they were so confident in this release, that they just remixed and re-mastered all of the songs and repackaged them in a different form. The remixed versions sound even better (you can definitely see the difference on "Echelon" and "Just to Get By"). The DVD is a great addition to this CD, although the concert clips don't capture their amazing live show. These guys put on an awesome show – trust me.
Furthermore, the entire CD is strong and every one of these tracks will blow you away. They have everything from hip hop ("Stay Up,") to in your face hard rock with some screaming ("Hindsight" & "Indivisible,") to a softer ballad, ("Further From Myself") while the rest of the album rocks pretty hard. However, while this is hard rock, it is rap/rock as well, as the lead singer, Rob, raps most of the verses and sings most of the choruses. My favorite songs are "Indivisible," "A Shame," "Fireproof," "Just to Get By," "Echelon," "Hindsight," and "Further From Myself." If I have to pick one favorite, I'll go with "A Shame." The whole album is solid though. There is not a single song that I don't like. Trust me, if you get this CD, you will not only love it, you will not skip a single track. The title track, as well as "A Shame, "Echelon" and "Indivisible" all went to #1 on Christian rock radio, for good reason. "Further From Myself was also another big Christian rock and Contemporary Christian hit when they released their acoustic version on "Broken Down: The EP."
Just buy the CD already. You know you're gonna like it. Fireproof was my favorite CD of all time until Pillar released “Where Do We Go From Here.” Now it is #2. Seriously, you can’t go wrong with Pillar. I especially like the lyrics to “Indivisible,” where Rob raps “Stop complaining move along / Open your eyes and see what's going on / We need to get back to the ways of the days of old / One nation under God indivisible.” After that Pillar starts yelling “In God We Trust,” which is “the motto of this greatest nation.” Pillar is an amazing Christian hard rock band. If you like rock music, and you haven't listened to these guys, you are missing out. Be sure to check out "Where Do We Go From Here" in addition to this CD.

I love this CD. I was just getting into Christian music when I heard "Fireproof". I loved it. It rocked hard but without the bad lyrics of secular offerings. I also love how some of the songs have a little rap leaning, especially with "Stay Up" featuring KJ-52. His rapping perfectly compliments Pillar's rock. You can't go wrong with this CD.

After gettin a dove award in 2001 for "best rock album of the yr", pillar came even harder w/ their new album featurin their record-breakin single "fireproof" which stayed at #1 longer than POD!! Also this cd was the reason I joined the underground army (pillars street team), & the song is how they got the interest of some major secular record label. My fav song on the cd is indivisible, talkin bout how an atheist man went 2 the supreme court 2 fight against havin the words "one nation under God" bein kept in the pledge of allegiance. & if u have or get the album, read the last line; ull c why I love that song the most

w/ the band bein signed 2 MCA, Pillar became an internationally known rock band along the likes of saliva, metallica, limp bizkit, etc. & also w/ bein signed came a very improved sound. if u listen 2 their original fireproof album (under flicker records), u can tell that it's hard at the beginnin of the fireproof single what they r tryin 2 say, but when it was remixed under MCA, it was very easy 2 tell what they were sayin which is why im glad they signed onto a major mainstream label cause whenever the album came out, I went 2 bestbuy 2 get it & talked w/ a few employees who said they thought it was an awesome cd
