Pillar, A Worship Album? Your Darn Right! August 6, 2004
Reviewer: from Las Vegas

I love Pillar's music for the hard core style they bring to the table. So when they released an "unplugged" worship style EP, I wasn't sure if they could pull it off. Man was I wrong! This album brings their songs to an intimate level that anybody who loves worshiping our Lord can get on their knees and praise God to. Get it, it's a must have!

Must-Have for Pillar fans July 28, 2004
Reviewer: Anonymous from Indiana

If you're a Pillar fan, you'll love this CD. Their songs are still powerful, even when played accoustically. I like the violin on "further from myself". You can hear the emotion in Rob (lead singer's) voice. I prefer their normal songs but these are a great addition!

Broken Down August 9, 2004
Reviewer: Anonymous from USA

This is a great cd for those people out there who enjoy Pillar's solid lyrics, but also enjoy a little bit of the acoustic sound along with it. Pillar has a great way of tuning things down, but still making those songs powerful. Along with this cd you get a bonus track (no this is not accoustic) called Bring Me Down. This is a hard-rocking song, and probably one of my favorite songs yet. This song is now topping national hard-rock radio charts, and on stations such as Fuse, MTV, and many others! A great cd!

Amazing Acoustic Stuff August 29, 2004
Reviewer: David from IL

Pillar really showcases their talent in this CD. With four cuts live and unplugged, one rock song, an added accoustic studio version of "Further From Myself," and enhanced DVD features (including the video for "Further From Myself") these guys absolutely shine. The passion and intimacy of these songs really come out when Pillar breaks them down into an accoustic form. For instance, the great rock song "A Shame" sounds fantastic when they break it down and do it without all of the crunching guitars. The passion in Rob's voice bring chills to my body when he sings, "Don't be afraid to take a stand. / It's a shame to be ashamed - to be ashamed of the One that we should glorify. / You are afraid of the price you'll pay. / Will you be strong or walk away? / You're reasons are runnin' thin. / All that's left to do is give in. / Inside this generation of sin, there's only one place to begin. / And it's at the starting line or you will be left behind. / You say it's hard to believe in something you can't see. / A choice you make today will affect you eternally." The vocals and the lyrics really stand out throughout this whole EP. Rob has an excellent voice. This really shows in "Light at My Feet," which is based off of the bible verse that says "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." Rob says on an enhanced feature on this CD that he tried to bring that theme "to a new generation in a new way." Another way that you can tell how good these guys perform live is that the live version of "Further From Myself" is just as strong as the accoustic studio version of it (the studio version was the single). This song is a great ballad which is based on James 4:8, which says "Draw near to the Lord and he will draw near to you." With so much emotion, Rob sings to God, our maker and creator, "I'm further, further from myself / When I'm next to You / When I run to You / ...With You inside my heart You...have erased [my] selfishness and foolish pride. / And I admit that when I submit to, You I can see all of the selfish things I do." Fireproof, the hit rock single, is the last acoustic song that they do unplugged. This one is another great rock song that sounds really well in accoustic form. If all of this is not enough, the band saves the best for last. A new hard rock song done in the studio called "Bring Me Down" closes out this EP. A remixed version of this song (the one on the new album, "Where Do We Go From Here," which hit stores June 15th 2004) dominated Christian rock radio for many weeks and is doing very well on mainstream rock radio as I am writing this. Let me tell you, if you like rock music, this EP is worth the money for this song alone. "Bring Me Down" is incredible. It has everything Pillar is known for as a rock band. Along with the video for the hit single, "Further From Myself," the enhanced features include a great photo gallery of the band, and song explanations by Rob. So, overall, this is a great EP, especially for the low price.

Surprise October 2, 2004

Pillar just didn't strike me as one who could pull off acoustic, man was I wrong! This brings their music to such an intimate level and really reflects God and his love. It is a must have for an intense worship time.

Broken Down, another Plus for Pillar December 5, 2004
Reviewer: Andreas from Michigan

As the title speaks, this album is a great break down from the original songs. I especially like the live video of the accoustic concert. Another great performance for the guys of Pillar. Stand for the Truth!

Pillar going Acoustic? February 2, 2005
Reviewer: Eric from El Paso

Well that's what I first thought, and when I heard the cd I said this is awesome. It was great, easy listening. If it wasn't for the inclusion of Bring Me Down one might think that Pillar was going soft. The remixes of the songs sounded amazing, especially Further, personally I think it was the most improved song on the cd. For all of you who think Pillar is too hard, check out this cd.

An Excellent Performance April 12, 2005
Reviewer: Brian from Wayne,MI

Pillar should do more acoustic songs because it breaks down the music to the Bibilcal times where it wasn't all that loud. Fireproof it has to be the song on the cd

This is an awsome unplugged version!!!! April 23, 2005
Reviewer: Michael from San Angelo Texas

I can truly say this is one of the best CDs for the money. All the songs are good songs from fireproof, but to hear them with acoustics and the strings in the back, unbelieavable! These guys are blessed, and truley have a tallent as a band. This also has the first release of the Bring me down song from the latest album. AWSOME!!!

Pillar proves they can do more than just rock. August 19, 2005
Reviewer: Micah from Indiana

The day "Broken Down" hit stores, I was waiting in the parking lot of the Christian bookstore before it opened. Within about two minutes of the store opening, I had the CD. The new song, "Bring Me Down" was awesome, but I already knew Pillar could do rock music good. The acoustic, worshipful versions of some of the songs from "Fireproof" were amazing. The talented rock band proved that it can do more than just rock. They can release worship music an par with some of todays top worship singers.
