Wonderful

Bethany Dillon's debut album is fantastic. At 15 years old, she has done what many people older than her (myself included!) would love to be able to do! Her voice shines on this album, and her songwriting is honest and thoughtful. As a young lady, I connect with many of her ideas.
The album kicks off with "Revolutionaries," a song encouraging youthful exuberance and daydreaming. It's wonderful! I also love the next song, "Great Big Mystery." This song just rocks -- I guarantee that the chorus will make you sing...loudly! "Beautiful" is the song that many people have heard. It's fantastic, and I think the lyrics speak for themselves. "For My Love" is one of my favorites. She says it so much better than I ever could. "Gaze into my eyes / Let me know you'd fight / Thousands, for my love / Slip your hand in mine / Ask me to dance with you tonight / Just ask me for my love." Beautiful. Bethany also does a remake of an old Amy Grant song, "Lead Me On." It's fantastic. It's another that you'll get stuck in your head and sing all day!
This album is wonderful, for someone of any age. Bethany has a tremendous talent and I look forward to what she'll do next!

Excellent Debut!

Bethany has the vocal chops of a veteran 10 years her senior and it shows through almost every song. The melodies are infectious and the lyrics don't come across as teen angst (common in the non teenie-pop arena). She is traveling on the path that many of us are traveling on: just trying to create a relationship with God as best we can. Her producers really helped her find her 'voice' in each song and stayed away from the debut album curse of having every song sound the same. I expect continuing greatness from Ms. Dillon in the future.

Thought Provoking Lyrics

The very fact Bethany Dillon writes all her music drew me to her right away. But when I had the chance to dig into her songs and read her own thoughts about every song on her website, the musical experience came to life for me. She wants to provoke others into a lifestyle of a "revolutionary" and into an intimate relationship with Christ. The lyrics on this album are stirring and perfectly compliment their melodies.

This album is incredible! Bethany's voice is beautiful, and her songwriting is awesome and encouraging. Being 15 years old, Bethany sings about things that relate to teens, however this album would be encouraging to anyone. Included on the CD is her hit single "Beautiful" which talks about the longing to be accepted and called beautiful, a cover of Amy Grant's song "Lead Me On", and other great tracks. This CD would be great for anyone, and will be one you listen to over and over again.

This is and excellent choice for a teenager whose is trying to battle, well, being a teenager. She'll inspire you in every single song. If you're a fan of Jennifer Knapp or Sarah Groves, you'll love Bethany's sound even more. Her sound is very 'toe tapping' and almost Western. The lyrics are very encouraging.

Bethany Dillon is one of the best singers I've heard in awhile. Her voice is so fresh and inspiring. Plus her songs can relate to every listener. Her messages in each song are strong, especially in Revolutionaries...everyone can be a revolutionary person for Jesus. I highly recommend this CD to anyone.

Wow. That's all I can say. It doesn't sound like a debut, it sounds great. The only song that needed work was "Revolutionaries". I tried to like this one, but, it just didn't happen. Maybe that's why they put it first on the album and put the best songs next. "Great Big Mystery", "Beautiful", "Move Forward", "For My Love", all of them, were really good. "Aimless" really spoke to me. I'd love to do that song sometime.

Flawless Voice

Wow, I really love Bethany's voice. I can really feel that she means every word that she sings. The fact that she writes her own songs makes it even better. I am generally not a fan of covers, but I think Bethany did an excellent job on Amy Grant's Lead Me On. My favorite song on the CD is "Why" but I think they are all excellent.
