This is one of the best FIF albums yet. Worthy of being their last one. The the recording live show is awesome. The song "The Cross Of Saint Andrew" is one of my favorite songs.

Farewell, Five Iron Frenzy...
September 15, 2004

Out of all of Five Iron Frenzy's albums, this one is the best, hands down! Eight years have taken its toll on this legendary eight-piece skacore-punk band, leaving the music industry one wacky, yet lovable group short. FIF has attracted thousands of admirers from every corner of the globe. During their early days, their sound switched from third-wave ska to a more harder, skacore-ish tone, leaving many diehard ska fans trying to unsuccessfully shift with it. Since All the Hype, they have really changed their style. However, many have labeled the Five Iron gang as the finest entertainers in Christian music history. Consequently, I agree with them 100%. I mean, who wouldn't?!?...
As for The End is Here, my favorites are the following: Cannonball, At Least..., American Kryptonite, Wizard Needs Food Badly, That's How the Story Ends, and, of course, On Distant Shore, one of FIF's musical masterpieces. It even contains Every New Day's (their best song ever) last verse at the end. The live album is even better,, including some of their favorites, such as Blue Comb, Oh Canada, and, who can forget, Every New Day. Man, I wish I was there at their final concert in Denver; the theater was packed to near-overload.
Can their be a better way to end a miraculous and extraordinary career? Nope. Uh-uh. No way. Not in your lifetime. This is truly the perfect way to leave, especially for Five Iron Frenzy. Rest In Piece, FIF, you shall, indeed, be deeply missed by the world...

The End?!? Already?!?

I had the pleasure of attending Five Iron Frenzy's farewell tour and picking up their limited release "The End is Near." Essentially the same as "The End is Here," "The End is Near" does not contain the bonus live disc or bonus track ("St. Andrew's Cross") that come with "The End is Here." The song "Cannonball" shows that Five Iron has lost little over the years when it comes to inventive songs, while "On Distant Shores" is right up there with their classic "Every New Day."

Bittersweet, But More Sweet Than Bitter..

This has to be my favorite album of 2004. Not only do you get two CDs for the price of one, but also a pull out poster that has shots of the final tour. The End Is Here is just amazing. My favorite songs on the Live CD are You Can't Handle This, Cannonball, Blue Comb '78, The Medley, Every New Day, and See The Flames Begin To Crawl, but every song on the album rocks. The End Is Near is awesome, although it is just the one available at concerts with a new song. It DOES have about 20 minutes of extras cut from the end of the Live disc, though, which is very cool. Reese Roper's explanation of the band being "put to sleep" has to be heard to be appreciated, and it really is funny. This disc is a must have for FIF fans and Christian music fans alike. It closes a chapter in the lives of eight people who made what up what I think is one of Christian rock's best bands of all time. I can't say enough good things about it.

This double disc set is the best I've ever come across. This is definitely a good ending for the best ska band to roam the earth. The live Cd is so well done, and for all you who love FIF, there is a lot of extra stuff at the end of the first disc to keep you laughing. Like Reese immitating a weiner dog being put to sleep.

This final release from the boys of Five Iron Frenzy is good. But just the mere fact that this final pressing includes the entire last show live is enough for me. The live CD is impressive and it entirely captures the essence of being there in Denver.

This is a great way to end..."The End is Here" is an awesome collection of Five Iron's best songs with an extra punch of emotion. Even for those who became FIF fans after the last note was recorded, this CD draws in its listeners and makes them want to get up. Definitely a must-have for all light-hearted music fans!

What a way to go! This was perhaps their greatest cd ever. Though all of the songs are great, my favorites are On Distant Shores and Every New Day. If you don't already have this cd you should definitely get it!
