This album feature hard songs such as "Rock The Party" and "Southtown" that you'll want to crank way up. This is one of POD's better CDs.

The album that introduced me to my favorite band

Way back in 1999 one day when I was watching MTV I saw a video called "Southtown" and I was introduced to the guys I would later find to be my favorite band. This song was extremely hard and had a sound that I had never heard before. While I had heard Rap-Rock before something about these guys really stood out. They were very "street" but at the same time very positive, Sonny cried out for a change in the streets and praised God at the same time. You could tell these guys were genuine and not just an act or gimmick. 6 years later this is still a 5 star album. This was their first album in the mainstream and P.O.D. definitely brought it for their first Major label release after 7 years in the indies and have kept their fans that have supported them since day one. Buy this album and see why P.O.D. is still around after 13 years!

P.O.D.'s debut album with Atlantic Records is a must-have for anyone into Christian hard rock. Many of the songs are inspired by the bands' own personal experiences. "Hollywood" talks about living in the world and how it will own you if you give yourself to "fame and glory." "Southtown" is about the difficulties of living in poverty, when you don't know when your next meal will come or how long you'll stay alive. It ultimately thanks God for being alive. "Set Your Eyes to Zion" is a great Bob Marley-inspired reggae song about drawing closer to God and getting to Heaven. This CD also has the 150th Psalm read in Hebrew, and P.O.D.'s version of U2's "Bullet the Blue Sky." (As an added bonus, if you play the bridge of "Bullet" backwards, you can hear Sonny reading John 3:16.) This CD is great if you are looking for a hard rock album that gets away from the depression and swearing and sex and drugs that most rock albums reek of. P.O.D. is a bright light shining in a dark world.

Take the raw sound of the Brown album and mix it with the forward sound of Satellite and you have this progression of an awesome band.
