With Never Going Back To Ok, The Afters prove that the “sophomore slump” is a myth. On their second record the Afters deliver an ingeniously crafted commercial record that will make people stand up and pay attention. From the up tempo infectious encouragement of the title track to the raw contemplative honesty of One Moment Away, Never Going Back To Ok delivers the promise of being named GMA New Artist Of The Year.
“We have never been as excited about new songs as we are about the ones on this album. We truly believe it's the best music we’ve ever made. There's definitely a lot of dynamics...the rock songs rock harder than anything we've done and there are some quiet ballads with piano and strings. The songs are honest and come from the good and bad experiences that we've had over the last couple years and the ways that we've seen God work though them. The title of the album is Never Going Back to Okay, which is also the name of one of the songs. It's about never being content with where you are, but always striving to become more and making the most of the one life that we're given.” • The Afters

Great Sophmore Album

After 3 years to get another CD out, expectations were high for the Afters. This album met my expectations in many ways, but I was hoping for a few more songs like Until the World and Someday.

A great follow up to their debut album. They have matured alot and have amore polished sound on this album. Nice melodic rock albume with a mix of uptempo and slow songs. I love the title song and the song "Ocean Wide." Also the song "Myspace Girl" is a fun listen. Great songwriting on this album that really makes you stop and think.
