Truly Legendary

Ever find that some of the best CDs by bands come out before they 'make it big?' Take Switchfoot, for example. I see them doing wonderful things, taking the message of the Gospel to mainstream audiences with "Meant to Live" and "The Beautiful Letdown." But for some really classic Switchfoot, there's nowhere to turn but "The Legend of Chin." From "Might Have Ben Hur" to "You," this album runs the whole gamut of emotions and styles . . . and honestly, just sounds more honest than later (more thoroughly produced) efforts from Switchfoot.

First foot first

This is the first album put out by Switchfoot, and is a good foot for the band to get off on. The songs are witty, and some are meaningfully serious. From "Chem 6a" to "You" the songs vary in speed and content, and they are all good.

The Beginning of Switchfoot!

Switchfoot knows how to make their debut album. Even though they were practically teenagers, they wrote some awesome songs such as chem 6a and concrete gir! Trust me, this is a great cd for fans of the beautiful letdown.

ah, the early days

This disc really takes you back to the early days of a truly great band. Their songs are somewhat raw in their production, but it just makes them sound more authentic. "Might have ben-hur" is a touching, kooky, and enjoyable song about wanting to find the love of your life. It's just one of many highlights on this CD.

Though it may not be as good as "The Beautiful Letdown", this CD is great! I enjoyed this CD a lot, due to songs like "Concrete Girl". Switchfoot has grown as a band, but all their projects stay consistently good. Thanks for listening.

Its fun to go back and listen to the old Switchfoot stuff because they have changed so much. Well not changed, but grown up. Jon Foreman is an amazing writer and singer. He is my favorite singer out there today. His voice is unique, sounds great, but not too pretty, and is usually in tune even in live concerts. The bands is great too. If you watch their podcasts on itunes you learn a little more about them and can see that fame has not gotten to their heards. They are still great guys and other bands/friends can vouch for that. There is not a bad Swtichfoot Cd and I will love and support them to the end!
